The questions that come up most, and where to write if yours is not here.
It is not saying anything
- The car has to be moving. By default nothing is said about places while it stands still; the switch is in Settings → Voice → “Speak only when moving”.
- Check which categories are allowed to speak. Everything is shown on screen, but only what you choose is spoken — petrol stations and toilets are silent to begin with.
- On a road with nothing on it, there is nothing to say. The screen lists what it found; if that list is empty, so is the road.
I can't hear it in the car
- Many head units have a separate volume for navigation prompts, independent of music, and it is sometimes at zero from the factory. That is set in the car, not in the app.
- Over Bluetooth the first words can be swallowed while the car switches source. Settings → Voice → “Pause before speaking” holds the sentence back until the channel is open.
A camera warning was wrong
Camera positions come from OpenStreetMap and include which way the lens looks, which is how the app decides whether a camera is on your carriageway or the one across the barrier. If a warning was wrong, the useful details are: roughly where it happened, which direction you were driving, and what the app said.
The drive never ended
A drive ends when you press End, when you arrive, when the phone leaves the car's audio, or after half an hour standing still. If none of those has happened, it is still running by design.
Siri
Say the app's name first, then what you want: “Road4Me just drive”, “Road4Me to Split”, “Road4Me about this place”. Phrases that begin with “drive to” or “take me to” are the system's own navigation commands and never reach the app.
